Domestic Violence Temporary Protection Order (TPO) issued against deputy
On Friday, May 31, 2002, Ms. Andrea Baab filed a Domestic Violence Temporary Protection Order, #02DV497, against Deputy Shawn Baab with the Montgomery County Domestic Relations Court. The Domestic Relations Court issued a Domestic Violence Temporary Protection Order in response to the filing based on an incident that allegedly occurred on Tuesday May 28, 2002, in which Deputy Baab had an argument with Ms. Baab. Deputy Baab allegedly shook her by the shoulders, threw his wedding ring at her hitting her in the face, dumped a bucket of water on her, and used his Montgomery County Sheriff's Office canine, Storm, to threaten her.
On Thursday, June 6, 2002, Ms. Baab sent a letter to the Inspectional Services Unit making a number of allegations concerning incidents that occurred before and after he was employed by the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office.
On Friday, May 31, 2002, Chief Deputy Rankin received information about the incident and assigned the Inspectional Services Unit to conduct an investigation. Sergeant Dershem assigned the investigation to me.
I reviewed Huber Heights Police Offense Report, number 1-02-2456, which was completed by Huber Heights Police Officer Shoemaker.
