Detective tells interviewee to shut up
On Monday, August 12, 2002, Detective Scott Landis conducted an interview with Mr. Keith Holt at the District 10 Substation, in Harrison Township. Detective Landis interviewed Holt to determine how and why he possessed sports cards that were taken in a burglary from Circle Sports, 3701 Keats Drive, on Wednesday, July 17, 2002.
Holt claims that during the interview Detective Landis told him to "shut-up", poked him in the arm, called him a liar, searched him, and acted like he was going to arrest him without justification.
Sergeant Renee O'Ryan investigated this complaint by interviewing Detective Landis. Sergeant O'Ryan also attempted to interview Holt, however Holt refused to participate in an interview. Sergeant O'Ryan found that Holt's complaint did not have merit. (See Sergeant O'Ryan's investigative report).
On Monday, August 12, 2002, Detective Landis conducted an interview with Holt to determine how Holt came into possession of sports cards that were stolen during a burglary. During the interview, Detective Landis said he told Holt to "shut-up." Detective Landis said that he had to use this language to regain control of the interview because Holt repeatedly talked over Detective Landis and refused to listen to questions.
