Deputy is uncooperative with a police investigation
On Sunday, January 20, 2002, at approximately 1800 hours, Court Services Deputy Craig Eaton followed a vehicle occupied by a suspected drunk driver from Needmore Road and North Dixie Drive in Harrison Township to the Butler Township Police Department while off duty. While following the suspected drunk driver, Court Services Deputy Eaton allegedly displayed his badge to the vehicle's driver and followed the vehicle at an extremely close distance. While speaking with the Butler Township police officers that were handling the call, he was uncooperative with their investigation of the suspected drunk driver.
Sergeant Althouse investigated this complaint by interviewing Ms. Mattingly, Butler Township Police Officer Scott Finley, Butler Township Police Officer Todd Stanley, Butler Township Police Officer Scott Short, and Court Services Deputy Eaton. Sergeant Althouse found the complaint to have merit.
