Deputy submits falsified documents
On Friday, September 13, 2002, Deputy Alyssa Ridgeway submitted an Employee Leave Request form for 24 hours of compensation time along with a packet of eight Compensation Forms to Sergeant Karen Osterfeld. Several of the forms were allegedly falsified.
On Wednesday, October 16, 2002, Chief Deputy Rankin assigned the investigation to the Inspectional Services Unit. I reviewed the complaint and the documents accompanying the investigation.
I reviewed Sergeant Osterfeld's memorandum, which was submitted to Lieutenant Dershem. Sergeant Osterfeld stated that Deputy Ridgeway turned in an Employee Leave Request form on Thursday, September 12, 2002, for 24 hours of compensation time. Sergeant Osterfeld informed Deputy Ridgeway she only had 4 hours of compensation time available. Deputy Ridgeway told Sergeant Osterfeld that she keeps track of her own time. Sergeant Osterfeld told Deputy Ridgeway she must turn in her Compensation Forms. Sergeant Osterfeld noted in her memorandum that Deputy Ridgeway had submitted Compensation Forms to her in the past and has done so on three separate occasions since August 1, 2002.
