Corrections officer slams prisoner's head into a door

Case Number:

On Monday, January 27, 2003, at 2320 hours, Corrections Officer Samuel Bunn was searching a prisoner in the Montgomery County Jail receiving room. The subject was intoxicated and uncooperative with Officer Bunn.

While escorting the subject into the pre-booking area of the jail, Officer Bunn allegedly pushed him into the inner receiving room door, causing his head to strike the door with great force.

Sergeant Bryan Statzer investigated this complaint by reviewing the digital video recording of the incident, interviewing Sergeant Michael Brem, Corrections Officer Darrin Roth, and Officer Bunn. Sergeant Statzer found that the complaint did have merit.
